Do not use with these medicines
Never use PT-141 Combo with nitrate medicines, including nitroglycerin or isosorbide; recreational nitrites commonly called “poppers”; or riociguat. These combinations can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Do not combine it with tadalafil, sildenafil, another PDE5 inhibitor, or another erectile-dysfunction treatment unless your prescriber directs you.
Heart and blood-pressure screening
Do not use if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure or known cardiovascular disease, or if a clinician has said sexual activity is unsafe for your heart. PT-141 can affect blood pressure and heart rate. Tell the provider about heart or blood-vessel disease, blood-pressure concerns, chest pain, fainting, stroke history, or cardiovascular symptoms during sex.
What to tell the provider
Disclose every condition, allergy, medicine, and supplement. Include kidney or liver problems, eye or hearing conditions, bleeding problems, penile curvature, or prolonged erections. Specifically mention alpha blockers, blood-pressure medicines, CYP3A4-interacting medicines, naltrexone, and sexual-health treatments. Substantial alcohol use can increase dizziness and low-blood-pressure symptoms with tadalafil.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Tell the provider if you are pregnant, may be pregnant, are trying to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Stop use and contact the prescriber if pregnancy is suspected. PT-141 or bremelanotide is not recommended during pregnancy, and oxytocin can affect uterine activity.
Possible effects
Ingredient-associated effects may include nausea, flushing, headache, dizziness, vomiting, indigestion, nasal congestion, back or muscle discomfort, and changes in blood pressure or heart rate. PT-141 has also been associated with focal skin darkening that may not fully resolve. Contact the provider about persistent, severe, or worsening effects or new pigmentation. When to seek urgent care
Stop sexual activity and seek immediate care for chest pain, severe dizziness, fainting, or nausea during sex. Get emergency help for an erection lasting more than four hours, sudden vision or hearing decrease or loss, severe allergy, or any severe or rapidly worsening reaction. Tell emergency clinicians when the medication was last used.
